Batavia Bulldogs Prepare for State Championship: A Thanksgiving Morning to Remember (Photos)

Thanksgiving morning at Batavia High School was marked by freezing temperatures, yet the community’s spirit burned bright as the Batavia Bulldogs football team took to the turf at 8:30 AM. Despite the biting 27-degree weather, parents and community members gathered, weathering the cold in support of their team. As anticipation for the state championship heightened, the sight of determined athletes and dedicated fans showcased the unyielding spirit of Batavia.
Under the leadership of Coach Dennis Piron, the Bulldogs have had an impressive season. Known for his strategic acumen and ability to inspire his players, Coach Piron has led Batavia to numerous victories, making this upcoming state championship a testament to the team’s hard work and resilience.
This Saturday, November 30th, at 4:00 PM, the Bulldogs will face off against Mt. Carmel in the IHSA 7A State Championship at Illinois State University’s Hancock Stadium. Many in the Batavia community will make the journey to ISU to cheer on their team with several postings on social media looking to carpool. For those unable to attend in person, the game will be broadcast live on WCIU Watch The U, accessible on Channel 26.1, Xfinity 183/1026, Astound TV 6, Dish 26, DirecTV 26, Spectrum Charter 22/616, U-Verse 10/1010, and YouTube TV begining 4PM.
