Batavia Football Defeats St. Charles East 34-14 in Conference Clash

St. Charles, IL – The Batavia Bulldogs secured a decisive 34-14 victory over the St. Charles East Fighting Saints on Friday night at St. Charles East High School. Batavia utilized a powerful ground attack to control the pace of the game from the opening kickoff.
Batavia jumped ahead in the first quarter when Michael Vander Luitgaren scored the first touchdown. Christian Balok added the extra point. Charlie Rosengren later found the end zone on another rushing touchdown, pushing the lead to 14-0 before the quarter ended.
Darin Ashiru extended the margin in the second quarter with a third rushing touchdown for the visitors. St. Charles East responded when Brady Habas broke through for a scoring run, with Luciano Litro converting the extra point. However, Vander Luitgaren answered with his second rushing touchdown of the half, sending Batavia into halftime with a 28-7 advantage.
Neither offense managed to score during a defensive third quarter. St. Charles East defensive back Luka Sarich made a key play by breaking downfield to disrupt a Batavia pass attempt.
Rosengren added his second touchdown run of the contest early in the fourth quarter to build the lead further. St. Charles East continued fighting until the final whistle, as Habas scored his second touchdown of the night late in the game.
Officials called the contest with 22 seconds remaining, securing the 34-14 final score for Batavia.
